AUTOMATICA - Institute of Robotics and Automation
The former Embedded Systems and Robotics Lab (LASER) became the AUTOMATICA - Institute of Robotics and Automation in the first semester of 2017. The Institute houses more the 40 researchers, including four professors, and several pos-docs, Ph.D., masters and undergraduate students.
Our Institute has several multi-rotor drones, fixed-wing drones, mobile robots for indoor applications, an airplane landing track and equipment for testing and building robots. Several companies have also partnered with us since 2014 besides the Brazilian Government.
The Institute focuses its research in aerial and ground mobile robots and multi-robot systems with applications on plantation monitoring, surveillance, and multi-robot competitions.
