CMANTIC Robotics Lab - University of Nebraska, Omaha

Country:
United States of America
Description:

The CMANTIC Robotics Lab is located in the Computer Science Department at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. Established in 2004, the main research topics in the lab are autonomous, adaptive, multi-agent/multi-robot systems; AI-based decision making for multi-robot systems; multi-robot motion and path planning; multi-robot task planning/allocation; game theory and computational economics; and swarm robotics. The major ongoing research projects in the lab are on the following topics:
- Machine learning techniques to provide fast, reliable robot path planning across multiple domains and heterogeneous robot platforms
- Communication- and Energy-aware Multi-Robot Exploration for Information Collection in Unknown and Unstructured Environments
- Navigation of quadrotors in GPS-denied environments (applications in structural inspection, agriculture)
- Modular Self-Reconfigurable Robots - Reconfiguration planning and dynamic gait adaption
- Rehabilitation Robotics
- STEM Robotics

The laboratory features state-of-the-art equipment for conducting research in robotics and multi-agent systems. Robot platforms available for research in the lab include AscTec Pelican UAV, AR drone (Bebop, AR drone 2.0), TurtleBot, Coroware Explorer, Coroware Corobots, and e-puck, along with several licenses of the commercial robot simulator Webots.
